A 19-year-old woman was killed when the vehicle she was riding in veered off the road into a bank of trees alongside the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township Tuesday night.
According to NJ State Police, troopers were called to the scene at 8:22 p.m. for reports of a crash. Police said that, based on an investigation, Emme N. Forker, 19, of Haddon Township, was a front-seat passenger in a Honda. When the vehicle reached the area of milepost 75.7, the driver “lost directional control of the vehicle,” police said in a statement. Police said the vehicle then ran off the roadway to the right and struck multiple trees.
“As a result of the crash, Forker was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries,” state police said in a statement.
The driver of the Honda also sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash is under investigation.
