Police are looking for a man they say allegedly attempted to rape a 59-year-old woman inside Kaiser Park in Coney Island.
They say the assault happened inside the park near Bayview and Neptune avenues at around 8:20 a.m. on May 26.
News 12 crews observed police and park presence, as well as investigators posting wanted signs of the suspect on Friday.
There are multiple schools near the park. Parent Nicole Green says the incident is concerning and even more so that it happened on a weekday morning.
"It's unfortunate a child could be the next victim, 8 a.m. on a weekday, and this park is always crowded. Hopefully, he's caught," said Green.
Investigators have released a sketch and surveillance video of the man wanted in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
If you or someone you know believes they are a victim of sexual violence, call 1-800-621-HOPE or go to the city's Domestic and Gender-Based Violence website for support.
