We begin our 4th heat wave of the year this week as highs surge into the 90s starting Tuesday. It is expected to last through the remainder of the week with heat-busting thunderstorms for Saturday night. The heat will be dangerous by Wednesday with highs near 101 degrees and feel like temperatures that reach near 105 degrees. It will remain int he 90s on the other days.
There won't be any rain, either. Sunshine will be strong and the sky will be hazy from the humidity and developing smog.
Heat will also come with high humidity and low air quality that will be hazardous for sensitive groups of people who are sensitive to changes in air quality when it gets hot and humid. Efficient cooling will be necessary for comfort and health this week as the heat and humidity linger across the state.
