The topping-off ceremony brought together Netflix executives, project managers and construction crews working on the transformation of the former Army installation into a film and television production hub.

Netflix completed its purchase of the more than 292-acre Fort Monmouth property last year. The site, located in Eatontown and Oceanport, is being redeveloped into a production campus that will include 12 soundstages totaling nearly 500,000 square feet, along with production support facilities and community amenities.

The company said it plans to invest approximately $1 billion in the project. Phase 1A is expected to be completed in summer 2027, with Phase 1B targeted for fall 2028.
According to Netflix, the project has diverted more than 55,000 tons of construction waste from landfills, representing about 80% of the waste generated during construction to date.

The development is expected to create nearly 4,000 construction jobs.
While construction continues, Netflix said it has already filmed more than 20 titles in New Jersey and expects the Fort Monmouth campus to provide a permanent production base for future projects in the state.
