The Department of Buildings says a cat named Piper was rescued from a sealed-off, fire-damaged building in East Williamsburg.
DOB issued a full vacate order for three buildings before sealing them off with a construction fence after a fourth-alarm blaze ripped through 927 Grand St. Sunday night.
While DOB crews and other city officials were at the fire site, a couple told them their cat was still inside one of the sealed buildings — 931 Grand St.
Officials rushed inside to rescue Piper the cat, and she was reunited with her owners.
As for 927 Grand St., officials ruled it structurally unstable and ordered a full demolition.
News 12 cameras captured the building coming down Monday night.
Officials say three firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze, which crews contained around four and a half hours after it broke out.
The Red Cross says it's assisting 18 adults with emergency relocation.
