An Armonk man has pleaded guilty to the attempted assault of a police officer.

Joe Spennato entered that plea in county court, according to the Westchester District Attorney.

New Castle police say Spennato tried to stab an officer two years ago.

It happened when police tried to help an elderly woman at her home.

Spennato had two outstanding warrants at the time. He was shot twice by another officer.

Spennato faces up to 11 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
