There were several reports of arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in New Brunswick on Saturday morning.

According to advocacy group New Labor, at least six people were detained, three of them near the intersection of French and Handy streets.

New Labor describes itself as a social justice advocacy group that uses what it calls a DIRE rapid response hotline for ICE activity. When people alert the group of an ICE presence, volunteers respond to document the situation.

Neither the federal government nor local police have confirmed the reports. News 12 has obtained several videos of the apparent arrests Saturday.

The first video shows what appear to be federal agents tackling a man to the ground and shoving him face first into the street as he struggled. The second shows what appear to be federal agents placing a man into the back of an unmarked vehicle. The third shows what appear to be more agents tackling someone to the ground on the other side of a shopping plaza at French and Handy streets.

Several store windows around the intersection displayed signs reading “no ICE,” instructing any potential agents that they would need a warrant signed by a judge.

The content of the videos has not been verified. News 12 reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement for comment and is waiting to hear back.
