A man tried to lure a child from the front lawn of a home in Ridgewood on Sunday.

Police say it happened on Ellington Road in broad daylight.

The suspect drove up to the house and offered the child candy. An adult stepped in and the man drove off.

Police say they are not releasing any more information at this time.
