School begins for Linden students with controversial new uniform policy

One parent told News 12 that it will cost nearly $1,000 to outfit her three children.

According to the school website, 65% of parents who were surveyed earlier this year voted in favor of the new uniforms.
The mayor's office is assisting with a uniform clothing drive to help as well.
