Poughkeepsie officer and prosecutor charged in domestic violence case

A domestic violence case in Poughkeepsie has led to charges against a city police officer and an Ulster County prosecutor.

State police say 28-year-old Anna Thompson of Poughkeepsie was arrested for child endangerment.

Michael McDonough-Ewald, a 29-year-old Poughkeepsie police officer, is facing several felony charges, including strangulation, assault and stalking.

The two have children together and have been involved in a bitter dispute in Dutchess County Family Court.

They were arraigned in family court and released.
