Central Jersey is recovering from devastating storms last evening that killed at least three people.
The City of Plainfield has confirmed two deaths from the severe storm damage. The city issued a statement saying 79-year-old Rocco Sansone and 25-year-old Brian Ernesto Valladare were killed when a tree fell on the vehicle they were traveling in during the storm.
North Plainfield police say a 44-year-old woman was killed when a large tree fell across Greenbrook Road and landed on her Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Plainfield, North Plainfield, Bound Brook and Dunellen all sustained extensive damage.

The City of Plainfield's emergency shelter at 400 East Front St. remains open with cooling, resting areas and essential services available. The American Red Cross is providing emergency supplies and support to those impacted by storm damage.
The Fourth of July parade, concert and fireworks have been canceled for the Queen City. The mayor said this is not a time for celebration, but rather a time to regroup and focus on recovery.
