Ex-Parsippany teacher faces charges for sending sexual texts to student

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said 43-year-old James Wiegand allegedly sent sexual messages to a student on Instagram between September and November 2024 while still employed as a teacher.

A former Parsippany High School teacher is facing child endangerment charges.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said 43-year-old James Wiegand allegedly sent sexual messages to a student on Instagram between September and November 2024 while still employed as a teacher. He was later suspended.

A district spokesperson could not comment on the details of the case but confirmed that Wiegand was not presently teaching in the district.

Wiegand is due back in court next month.
