Traffic alert: Route 4 lane closures in Englewood start Friday

Route 4 in Englewood, one of Bergen County's busiest roads, is scheduled to have lane closures in both directions starting Friday at noon.
Different portions will be shut down through the weekend due to the Jones Road Bridge Replacement Project. There will be temporary complete closure as well.
The $20.7 million federally funded project will replace the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 in Englewood. Officials say the new bridge will be 3 feet higher to improve under-clearance issues on Route 4.

Route 4 eastbound lane closure (daytime)
From 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, April 12, the right lane on Route 4 eastbound is scheduled to be closed at the Jones Road overpass to create a work zone for the delivery of steel beams. At least two lanes will be maintained on Route 4 eastbound during daytime construction. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays.
Route 4 lane closures and temporary stoppages in both directions (overnight)
Beginning at 11 p.m., Friday, April 12, until 5:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, the right and center lanes on Route 4 eastbound and the right lane on Route 4 westbound are scheduled to be closed for the installation of steel beams on the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4. At least one lane will be maintained in each direction during construction. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays.
In addition, between 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 12, and 4 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 15-minute temporary stoppages of traffic are scheduled on Route 4 in both directions. Motorists are advised to plan an alternate route.
Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 closure
Beginning at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, until 6 a.m. Monday, April 15, the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 is scheduled to be closed and detoured for the installation of steel beams. If construction completes earlier, the road will be reopened sooner. The following detours will be in place:
Jones Road northbound detour:
Motorists on Jones Road northbound will be directed to Edgewood Road
Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
Turn right onto Grandview Terrace
Turn right onto Hillside Avenue
Turn right onto Broad Avenue
Turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
Turn left onto Jones Road
Jones Road southbound detour:
Motorists on Jones Road southbound will be directed to turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue.
Turn left onto Broad Avenue
Turn left onto Hillside Avenue
Turn left onto Grandview Terrace
Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
Turn right onto Edgewood Road
Turn left onto Jones Road
Jones Road/Route 4 Interchange ramps closures
In addition, from 2 p.m. Friday, April 12 until 6 a.m. Monday, April 15, the ramps from Jones Road to Route 4 and the ramps from Route 4 to Jones Road are scheduled to be closed and detoured. Motorists on Jones Road northbound will be directed to turn right on Kenwood Street, which is before the bridge closure
Turn right onto Route 4 eastbound
Jones Road southbound to Route 4 westbound detour:
Motorists on Jones Road southbound will be directed to turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
Turn left onto Route 93/Grand Avenue
Turn right to take the ramp onto Route 4 westbound
Jones Road southbound to Route 4 eastbound detour:
Motorists on Jones Road southbound will be directed to turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue

Go under right 4 and turn right to take the ramp onto Route 4 eastbound
