A new study says yelling at kids can hurt them just as much as physical or sexual abuse.

The study, published in the journal ScienceDirect, says yelling at kids can lead to depression, substance abuse and poor physical health. Scientists looked at hundreds of earlier studies to reach that conclusion.

This isn't just news for parents. Researchers say teachers, coaches and other adults who shout at kids can have a negative impact.
