The United States Coast Guard rescued a kite surfer off the Barnegat Light coast.
The rescue happened on Thursday. Officials say a good Samaritan called police after seeing the surfer stranded on a sandbar and waving for assistance.
Officials say that once the surfer was rescued, he explained that he was tangled with another kite surfer while in the air and had to cut himself out of the kite. He was able to swim to the sandbar to get help.
No injuries were reported.
