A man and a woman pleaded not guilty Monday to the murder of a 41-year-old Linden woman.
Tyrita Julius, along with her teenage daughter, were both found shot and wounded in the front seat of her car in Linden back in November 2015. Both survived, but Julius disappeared the following March. It wasn't until August that police found her body buried behind a home on Joline Avenue in Long Branch.
Andre Harris, 32, who lived in that home, and Jennifer Sweeney, 32, of Tinton Falls, were charged with the crime. Julius considered both to be friends.
Harris and Sweeney also face attempted murder charges for the first attack on Julius.
Each appeared separately with their own defense lawyers, and both entered pleas of not guilty. Both rejected plea deals that were offered.
Harris and Sweeney are next scheduled to appear in court on March 6.
