Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify two people accused of setting several fires inside a recently constructed apartment building in Newark.
Arson detectives said the man and woman entered the Cherry Park Apartments through the front door on Sept. 3 around 8:30 p.m. The pair fled through a side exit after setting several fires inside of an apartment unit, police said.
The building’s fire suppression system quickly extinguished the flames, resulting in minimum damage.
Investigators said the man was wearing all in black, and the woman was wearing a black Hijab with black sneakers and carrying a black bag.
