Officials say two Newark police officers were injured in a crash while pursuing a vehicle that was involved in several robberies.
Police say four juveniles were arrested after the driver lost control and crashed Wednesday morning on South Seventh Street.
The officers had to be extricated from their vehicle.
Witnesses say the police officers may have lost control when going over a speed hump. The police department has not released any information about how the crash occurred.
The officers were taken to University Medical Center in Newark. One was treated for pain and the other a bruise. They were both released after a few hours.
The suspects were also taken to the hospital. They have since been released and are now in police custody. Police say they will face a variety of charges.
According to Newark police, the car the suspects were driving in matched the description of one involved in several robberies across Newark Tuesday night.
Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Newark Crime Stoppers at 877-NWK-TIPS.
