Two young men were robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning while sitting in a car in North Brunswick.
The robbery happened in front of one of the victim's homes on Quince Place around 4 a.m., according to the father of one of the victims.
News 12 is told the robber demanded the boys' wallets, cellphones and keys to the car. The car has since been disabled.
The victims, who are in their late-20s, had just returned from a breast cancer awareness charity event when the incident occurred.
Neighbors say they were shocked after hearing about the robbery.
"It's hard to believe,” said John Maranca, of North Brunswick. “It’s always been a safe neighborhood.”
Maranca says he plans on reaching out to his neighbors to start a community watch group. He also plans to add extra security to his own home.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call police.
