New surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows police running up the street and into 1061 Home St. after a double shooting early Saturday morning.
Detectives say the incident occurred around 2 a.m. A 36-year-old man was shot in the stomach, and a 38-year-old man was shot in both legs. Both were hospitalized in stable condition.
An employee at the Longwood location confirmed the building is an event space that hosts weekly evening events. It declined to comment on the shooting but said the team was preparing for another event Saturday night.
Neighbors said they were not surprised by the violence.
“That kind of makes a little bit of sense. They get a little rowdy sometimes. I mean, drinking, partying,” said Cassandra Solano. Another neighbor described the area as “a very rough area to live in.”
Police say the suspect is a man in his 30s who was last seen wearing a black hat and fleeing the scene in a white sedan. The events leading up to the shooting were not immediately clear. Investigators urge anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
