Two men were arrested Tuesday for aggravated assault and arson at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Rutgers University police say Reinaldo Martinez, 46, and Jose Orozco-Cedeno, 21, assaulted a victim and set his belongings on fire Sunday afternoon near the Center for Vector Biology on Jones Avenue. The fire also damaged a door to a nearby greenhouse.

Police say neither Martinez and Orozco-Cedeno are affiliated with the university.

Authorities are reminding students to take safety precautions, including staying alert to your surroundings, avoid isolated or dark areas, walk in groups when traveling late at night and report any suspicious activity to police.
