At-Large Councilwoman Emily Jabbour defeated Councilman Michael Russo in Hoboken while Councilman James Solomon soundly defeated former governor Jim McGreevey in Jersey City.

Both runoffs occurred because none of the candidates involved in November's General election received more than fifty percent of the vote.

In a social media statement, Jabbour said, "I am incredibly humbled and honored by the trust that the people of Hoboken have placed in me."

James Solomon told News 12 yesterday that he plans to work very hard for the residents of Jersey City.
