Two South Brunswick firefighters were hospitalized Sunday after battling a fire at a hotel.
South Brunswick police say that the two firefighters experienced heat exhaustion while fighting a fire at the Best Western hotel on Route 1 Sunday evening.
The fire badly damaged the hotel. Officials say that guests in all 50 rooms were forced to evacuate.
It took 60 firefighters several hours to get the fire under control.
A portion of Route 1 was closed for a time while crews battled the blaze.
Officials say that the hotel must remain closed following the fire.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
