A 19‑year‑old is accused of trying to kill two people after opening fire on a car in Woodbury on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Jasheir Hawkins is in custody as prosecutors say he shot a man in the neck as the man was driving.

He may have been targeting the passenger in the car, prosecutors say at the end of the statement.

Police say the shooting followed a fight earlier in the day.
