An overturned tanker truck caused major traffic issues in Union County Wednesday after nearly 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out all over the road.
The truck crashed just after midnight on the 100 block of East Edgar Road, spilling 1,900 gallons of fuel. Routes 1 and 9 near Wood Avenue were closed for a time, but were fully reopened by the afternoon.
Police say the truck was traveling in the south lanes when the driver lost control and struck the center median.
A 27-year-old passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries.
