A fire left 18 people displaced early Saturday morning in Newark, according to authorities.
The Newark Public Safety Director says a call reporting the blaze at 17 Dover St. was made around 4:49 a.m.
The flames were controlled by 7:10 a.m. Three adults and one child were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately clear. The displaced individuals are being helped by the Red Cross.
Officials say a car also struck one of the fire trucks responding to the scene. The vehicle flipped over and hit three parked cars nearby.
The driver and a firefighter were hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
