A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Bay Shore, Suffolk police said.
Suffolk police say Segundo Guaman, 69, was driving westbound on the North Sunrise Service Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck James Amaya, 16, who was walking on the side of the roadway near Atlantic Avenue.
Amaya was taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
News 12 reported Friday about a Bellport man who was fatally hit while walking on the Sunrise Highway service road near the Brentwood Road overpass, minutes from where 16-year-old was struck.
