For 15 couples in Passaic County, Halloween will be more than just a holiday ? it will be their anniversary.
Passaic County Clerk Karen Brown performed 14 wedding ceremonies and one civil union this Halloween. Brown says she came up with the idea to have couples dress up in costumes for their ceremonies.
?It?s a way to actually bring joy, fun and pleasure to an otherwise ghoulish holiday,? Brown said.
Brown, dressed as an angel, performed only the second civil union in county history.
The Passaic County Clerk?s Office also gave out a prize for best costume from a wedding party. The winners received a one-night stay at the Holiday Inn in Totowa.
