Students in Sandy Hook were treated to hands-on learning about science and marine life Wednesday.
A parking lot was transformed into a seaside biology class for 850 students from all over central and north New Jersey.
Clean Ocean Action organized the event, which includes demonstrations like how pollution can be washed away by rain and drained into the ocean.
Organizers say the students will also be going on field trips around Sandy Hook to learn more about dunes, climate change, invertebrate and other marine life.
