An early morning fire tore through several homes in Irvington, causing one to collapse and damaging several others.
The fire began around 2 a.m. on Franklin Terrace.
The flames brought at least one building to the ground and forced many residents out of their homes.
At least six homes were also damaged, as well as several cars parked in front of the homes.
"I saw flashing lights and my girlfriend said she saw flashing lights,” says Tim Williams, of Elmwood Park. “I thought it was like roadwork or something and all of a sudden I woke up to my car and saw all these fire trucks out here and I saw my car being on fire you know like burnt out."
Ten people, including seven adults and three children, were displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
Fortunately, there are no injuries to report.
There is no word yet on how and where the fire started.
