Woodbridge police: Man, woman stabbed at Avenel hotel

An Elizabeth man was arrested after a double stabbing at an Avenel hotel Wednesday night.
Woodbridge police say 45-year-old Leroy Boyd, of Elizabeth, was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly attacking a man and woman at the Douglas Motel on Route 1. They say a folding knife was recovered.
The victims were taken to University Hospital in Newark with nonlife-threatening slash wounds, according to police.
Authorities are investigating what led up to the stabbing.
