A New Jersey woman has been reunited with a photo album that she did not even know was missing in the first place.
The album was found by Roxbury Township resident Lenore Palen inside of a little mailbox library. It is a small box where people are able to trade books.
“And I noticed the photo album, and realized there were photos in it. I started looking through it and I realized someone must've left it there by mistake,” Palen says.
The album belonged to Nichole Baker and contained photos of her daughter Harlym when she was a toddler. But Baker says that she did not know it was even missing.
“I had seen the photo album recently and I just don’t remember when or where,” she says.
Palen took pictures of the album and posted them on her Facebook page. The post was shared and someone eventually recognized Baker and told her about the missing album.
“It seemed to happen pretty fast. My girlfriend called me and the next thing you know someone else recognized me and reached out,” Baker says.
Baker was able to get the album back and says that she is grateful.
“It's refreshing to think there are still good people that think about things like a woman and her child and her family and memories that I really didn't know were missing but definitely didn't want to lose so it is pretty awesome,” Baker says.
“I’m glad it was a chance for social media to do something good,” says Palen.
