The NYPD says a 36-year-old woman was raped and robbed inside her Bronx apartment building early Sunday morning.
Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Kenneth Siriboe. He was walked out of the Bronx Special Victims Unit in handcuffs Monday afternoon.
Siriboe is facing charges including rape, robbery, strangulation, assault and sexual abuse.
The attack happened around 5 a.m. near East Gun Hill Road and Putnam Place. The woman was grabbed by the neck, sexually assaulted and robbed of cash. She was taken to North Central Bronx Hospital and is expected to be physically OK.
Sources say it was a community tip that ultimately led to the arrest.
They tell News 12 Siriboe may have once lived in the same building as the victim, but his last known address was in New Jersey, where he has a prior criminal record. Police say the victim and suspect were not known to each other.
