Woman charged with vehicular homicide in crash that killed Murphy aide

Multiple people have been charged in a crash that killed an aide to Gov. Phil Murphy.
Louisa Bradlow Carman, 25, died in the crash on Route 1 near College Road in Plainsboro on New Year’s Day 2024.
Middlesex prosecutors say Carman was initially hit by a 24-year-old driver who was under the influence. Then shortly after, a 27-year-old woman in another car hit Carman’s vehicle and left the scene.
Prosecutors say the incident had a ripple effect, with a total of six cars involved.
Five people now face charges.
Adriana Vega, 27, faces charges of aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
Kartika Shorter, 44, was charged with four counts of assault by auto and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
