Temperatures were mild in New Jersey on Monday, but forecasters are expecting conditions to change with some periods of snow Tuesday.
Parts of the state could see up to an inch of snow – the first snow of the season. Colder temperatures are also coming. But many New Jersey residents say that they aren’t surprised and that this is just that time of the year.
“Listen, it's winter coming, so expect it,” says Frank Mastorou of George's Tailoring & Dry Cleaning in Metuchen. “Might get a lot more sooner than later, so let’s get ready for it now.”
The snowblowers are already out for sale at Fords Lawnmower. And while snowblowers won’t be needed for Tuesday, the owner says that it is best to be prepared.
“The most important thing is, check the snowblower now before it actually does snow. A good reason for that is that gas goes bad within 30 days," says Fords Lawnmower owner Ted Wyrwa. “Make sure there's no water in your snowblower, water will sit at the bottom and puddle up.”
Temperatures Tuesday will be in the 30s, with wind chills making conditions feel as if they are in the single digits or low-teens.
