Wildfire in West Milford closes Route 23, causes power outage
The New Jersey State Forest Fire Service is on the scene of a wildfire in Passaic County.
Officials say that the fire is located off Route 23 in West Milford near the Charlotteburg Reservoir. So far about 140 acres of land are impacted.
A portion of Route 23 is closed in the area due to the fire.
JCP&L reported some power outages due to the fire.
The fire service says that 10 structures are being threatened. Local fire departments are providing protection.
New Jersey has been dealing with a series of fires over the past day due to the dry and windy conditions. A wildfire in Ocean County has consumed more than 3,800 acres of land.
