It's time for a change for one New Jersey town.
Street signs are going to be replaced in Westfield. Town officials say it's an opportunity to provide a safer experience for drivers and also to make the town even more aesthetically appealing.
The town says the signs have become worn, faded and damaged over the years due to age, weather deterioration, storms and car crashes.
The town will continue to recognize the streets within the historicdistrictand Gold Star streets with the appropriate colors and marking. Street signs will be rebranded to match the Westfield navy color and reflective white.
The Department of Public Works will begin to replace 1,350 street signs.
The town says old signs will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going back to the town. The sign replacement process should start around the end of the month and early October.
