It has been a hot and humid day across New Jersey as temperatures reach 90 degrees.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Justin Godynick says the state is under an air quality alert due to the oppressive heat and humidity.
There is a chance of a thunderstorm developing in the evening hours. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 70s overnight.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with high temperatures around 87 degrees. There is also a chance of a thunderstorm.
The weekend should remain mostly clear, but with another chance of a thunderstorm Saturday.
