Wreaths Across America was observed by more than 2,000 places nationwide on Saturday.
Residents came to First Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth to recognize the day.
The cemetery is the resting place for veterans of the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and the Civil War.
"It is a beautiful tribute to the patriots," says Roselle Park resident Mary Leonard.
Volunteers placing wreaths say it's an honor to take the time to pay tribute for veterans' sacrifices.
