Two Monmouth County towns commemorated the Memorial Day holiday with some special events.
A solemn wreath laying ceremony was held at the former Municipal Complex in Howell as VFW Post 9691 honored those who died in service to our country.
"The flags and the wreaths are placed as a sign of memory for them to carry on, and for those of us who do not understand what these men have given their lives for," says Michael Tories Sr., of the VFW.
After the ceremony, a Memorial Day parade made its way down Main Street in Farmingdale.
