Several thousand homes and businesses were still without power Tuesday evening, mainly in Mercer, Monmouth and Hunterdon counties. Tens of thousands of customers were without power at the height of Monday night's storms.
Strong winds downed trees and power lines. As much as 2 inches of rain fell in an hour, causing flash flooding.
Most of the flooded roads were reopened by Tuesday afternoon.
