(AP) - A New Jersey chapter of the United Way has pulled an event from one of President Donald Trump's golf courses amid concerns raised after a deadly neo-Nazi rally in Virginia.
The United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties had planned to hold its leadership reception at Trump National Golf Course in Colts Neck on Sept. 28. The Asbury Park Press reports the group is now seeking a new site for the event, which will likely be held at a later date.
The chapter's chief executive, Timothy Hearne, says the decision to move the event came as a result of the "overall reaction" to what happened in Virginia. But he didn't specifically cite Trump's racially fraught comments that "both sides" were to blame for what happened at the rally.
