When the weather isn?t cooperating during the summer months, the Turtle Back Zoo urges parents to bring their kids down to enjoy its exhibits.
The Turtle Back Zoo, located in West Orange, has everything from roosters and horses to snakes and alligators. The indoor reptile center features a variety of unique and rare animals, including a reticulated python and a Vietnamese giant centipede.
The newest exhibit, ?Wild New Jersey? will open Friday, July 27. The exhibit will showcase animals native to the Garden State, including the porcupine.
?Thanks to the efforts of the [Essex] County executive, we?ve had a major reinvestment into the zoo and our new exhibits are just so wonderful,? Turtle Back Zoo Director Dr. Jeremy Goodman said.
