The Trenton Police Department say multiple people contacted them in regard to a video that was shared on social media of a woman allegedly assaulting a 2-month-old.
According to police, 37-year-old Vivian Harrell, of Trenton, is seen in the video covering the infant's face, possibly blocking their airway, pushing their head and using vulgar language. An investigation was conducted by detectives from the Trenton Police Department Special Victims Unit Detective and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit.
Harrell was arrested and charged with second degree endangering the welfare of a child and second degree aggravated assault.
It's unclear what Harrell's relationship is to the infant.
Trenton police told News 12 New Jersey that the baby did not have any visible physical injuries and did not require immediate medical treatment.
Authorities say the Division of Child Protection and Permanency was contacted and is assisting.
