A train engineer escaped injury last night after a tree crashed through the cab on a train in South Jersey.

The incident took place on an Atlantic City Rail Line train, according to a social media post from New Jersey Transit.

"To give you an idea of how violent the weather was last night, this tree crashed into the engineer's cab of an Atlantic City Rail Line train," NJ Transit posted on X.

None of the passengers or the engineer on the train were injured.

The strong storms also led to disruptions on the North Jersey Coast and Morris & Essex rail lines overnight. Overhead power issues prompted suspensions, but train service resumed this morning with some residual delays.
