Traveling I-80 has been an absolute nightmare, especially for those who commute to work along the detoured roads, losing hours of time each week in traffic.
But some have decided to find alternative means of transportation, even if it means more time commuting.

Melissa Libby of Belvidere is a federal employee and previously worked from home.
But after President Donald Trump mandated all government workers back to in-person work that meant Libby had to go back to her office, all the way in Parsippany.
To avoid the traffic and detours she takes her car and parks at the train station, hops on the train, and when she gets off the train she takes a Lyft ride to her office. It’s nearly a two-hour commute one way - and she has to do it twice. The way back is slightly faster because she doesn’t have to transfer trains.
