For one New Jersey commuter, the ride to work has become more than just a trip to the office.
Twenty-one-year-old Matty Weisholtz spends four days a week commuting from Summit to Midtown Manhattan for her internship at a major beauty company.
But before she ever clocks in, she's already hard at work.
Weisholtz documents her daily journey for social media, filming and sharing videos that give followers a glimpse into life as a young commuter.
"I think a lot of people like to see what people my age are doing now," she said. "I'll usually just take out my camera and start filming my commute."
The content starts before sunrise and often continues all the way to her office.
"Sometimes people will look at me because I'll be speaking out loud, but I feel like it's worth it because those videos do really well," she said.
For Weisholtz, the train ride has become time to create content, edit videos and grow her audience.
"I'm gonna put the day together, clip everything and put it into TikTok because people think it's cool and they like to see the commute," she said.
The process isn't always easy.
"The problem is, I don't really ever have Wi-Fi on the train," Weisholtz said. "Sometimes I'll spend 30 minutes editing something and it doesn't save because there's no Wi-Fi."
Even with delays and long walks, she keeps filming.
"I'll show that I've just arrived and where I'm going. People like to see it because now I've entered the greatest city in the world," she said.
Weisholtz says changing her perspective has made the long commute more enjoyable.
"If you romanticize your commute, you'll have a good commute," she said.
