Now, as you wake up this morning, you might notice some of the effects of yesterday's snowstorm, freezing temperatures causing any roads that are still messy to get slippery. Today. Crews though, throughout the state working for hours to salt those roads. New New Jersey's Lauren de took Thunderbolt 12 to Ramsey this morning, Lauren, it's looking pretty icy behind you. It is, and it's actually really cool too. So if you are heading out the door, make sure you bundle up in Ramsey. Thunderbolt 12 says it is 23 degrees with about eight inches of snow on the ground. That's how much snow they picked up here in Ramsey. I think about 8.5 to be exact. Now the streets are fine. The sidewalks been salting them the streets you could see. Look, ok. For the most part, it's just the parking spot that might have a little bit of icy spots still there. So, just be careful. Earlier this morning, we talked to the deputy emergency and management coordinator with Ramsey and this is what he had to say about. The clean up crews have been out for any, um, icy spots that might have been hit yesterday. But as you can see when you were driving around, the town is in pretty good shape. It's down to the pavement in most places. But if you go out this morning, still be careful, there could be an icy spot and make sure you clean off your car, the windshield and the roof before you hit the road. All great advice. So, just a reminder for you to do all that major roadways, I should say driving up to Ramsey here on the parkway, it looked ok. Everything has been treated and cleaned up very nicely. Well, you know, Simon Nick, considering that Ramsey picked up about 8.5, almost 10 inches of snow, it actually looks pretty good out here. So, with me now, I have the deputy emergency management coordinator, Glenn and we saw Salters out here still this morning. Yes. Um, crews have been out for any, um, icy spots that might have been hit yesterday. But as you can see when you were driving around the town is in pretty good shape. It's down to the pavement in most places. But if you go out this morning, still be careful, there could be an icy spot and make sure you clean off your car and a windshield and the roof before you hit the road. Good advice and how hard did those crews work yesterday, especially those plows too, in excess of 12 hours. They try to keep it manageable for the crews. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Yeah, you gotta do what you gotta do. Exactly. And it looks like it's ok. Are there any problem spots out there today? I know there were a lot of problems out there yesterday. You might find him before. Uh, we do. Uh, so just be careful because even though the road looks clear he could hit a spot of black ice or something. But for the most part it's down to the pavement. And what were those problems? Yesterday? Uh, yesterday, when the problems were, several cars were stuck in snow banks, but also on route 17 tractor trailers had a hard time and several were stuck for a while to close down the highway and the state dot And the local Ramsey DPW had to go out there and take care of the road to make it passable again. Open it up. Ok. Roads look good though today. School was closed yesterday. Back, open today. Correct, back to the school today. All right. Anything else you want to add? A lot of them are clear. Now, crews working throughout the state for hours to treat the roads. News of New Jersey's Lauren de is in thunderbolt right now with more Lauren. Where are you? And how are the roads? So, Simon Nick, this is the parkway and it is totally fine. Ok. The roads are treated, they are clear, they are dry. We actually saw a salter going by, I'm going to switch from the dashboard camera to the overhead camera and you could see, um, there's still snow on the side, right on the grass. But this again is the parkway. We're making our way up to Ramsay. I'm going to try to get you an exact location for where we are, but we did see the alters go by. We actually saw some plow trucks go by, this is Elmwood Park by the way. Um, going by the, uh, settle Brook exit by the George Washington bridge, exit 159. There you go. Uh, the major roads are clear. For the most part, the crews did a great job clearing up any snow that's been left over on the roads. But still, I wanna stress, be careful on those entrance and exit ramps. Ok. The bridges, the overpasses even on these major highways all. So your back roads, those could also be icy or slippery because some of those roads have not been treated. So, just be careful when you're going to the bus stop, maybe heading to school and on your way to work this morning, just know the major roads are fine. Let's switch it back over. You could see the parkway looks fine this morning. So be careful out there. We'll keep you updated looking at 511. It looks like no major crashes to tell you about this morning.
