The Atlantic City Airshow featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds is taking off today.
Each year, crowds gather all over the country to see the F-16 jets fly feet apart at speeds up to 500 miles per hour.
"We practice day in and day out and make sure our viewers are safe as well as ourselves," said Capt. Ryan Riley. "To be able to fly the red, white and blue is just a great feeling. I think the best is seeing the light go on with the next generation, seeing kids fired up about America and our great Air Force."
The Thunderbirds will be performing over New York City on Sunday.
