West Orange-based Thomas Edison National Historical Park has announced the digital release of 2,400 historic Edison sound recordings from its collection.

Thomas Edison National Historical Park announces online release of thousands of rare recordings
West Orange-based Thomas Edison National Historical Park has announced the digital release of 2,400 historic Edison sound recordings from its collection.
The park said the the release was done in cooperation with University of California, Santa Barbara Library Special Research Collections as part of its Discography of American Historical Recordings website.
“Edison discs document a fascinating era of performance and technology that is of interest to music historians and audiophiles still today,” said museum curator Jerry Fabris.
